This year I have been getting a lot of requests for weddings and engagements. I love watching capturing all the love in the air, but I really miss taking pictures of families. I adore exploring all the personalities and relationships that exists in a family. It’s beautiful to see how different everyone is and how they beautifully they all work together.
Meet Jane’s family. Her older son is obsessed with writing and numbers. Even though he’s only 2, he will make any kindergarten teacher proud of how much he knows. And his little brother is super easy going and just chills as he watches all the activities of the family. I love how her family loves to teach and learn together. Ivy League…make room for Jane’s sons!

Meet my friends Jacqui and Hwok-Aun visiting cloudy and rainy California from sunny and freezing Boston. I’m not sure which is worse this time of the year. During their short stay here I’m grateful to have spent a nice relaxing morning with them. It was my first time meeting their son. With another baby on the way, it was nice to capture some moments of this family as they are now.
Little Baby Matthew was born in the wintery days of December. Right around that time I captured some beautiful moments of his adorable cousins, you might remember them HERE. Matthew is precious and little making all the gurgling sounds of an infant. Big sister is just starting to realize that this baby is here to stay and that willingly or not she will have to transition from the baby to big sister. This is no small feat for a 18 month old.
There is something about the warmth and calmness of a brand new baby that brings out the best in his family. And that feeling I still remember so intimately about my kids who are babies no more. I always walk out of these sessions wrapped up in the softness of newborn skin and the creaminess of their scent. My husband better keep my far away from these sessions before I want to have another baby of our own!
Meet the Tan family. I was charmed by these two little girls who greeted me with smiles and hugs. They wanted to show me their rooms, introduce me to their dolls and stuffed animals, and read me their favorite books. They make me so envious of their special sisterhood. I’ve always wished I had someone to share clothes, thoughts, and space with. I hope these little girls grow up to appreciate what they have in each other. May these pictures help to remind them always of the love that exists in this family.

As a photographer, I think my greatest strengths are story telling and seeing small details often missed by others. So when I meet a client who is willing to make use of what I can do best, the results are AMAZING!!!
I am so grateful to meet my client and friend Kathy. She is a designer with such an eye for beauty. A joy to be around, she exudes enthusiasm for life, food, art, and sharing everything she loves with those around her. So I spent some time getting to know her and her family. We had coffee, chatted, and had great food. This is what they do best, taking the time to enjoy life. I loved the opportunity to document what they have together. A beautiful home, the joy of food, laughter, and a genuinely loving relationship with one another.
Thank you for sharing your life with me, I am so blessed by you!

A very loving and lovely family. I feel so privileged to have a glimpse into their lives. Read more about them on their teaser… Thank you for sharing your lives with me Jones family!

I’m probably as opposite of a morning person as one can be, but I adore the morning light. So I often drag my clients out of bed early in the morning to catch the golden glory of the sun. I truly enjoyed getting to know Tuquan and his adorable little boy, and I’m extremely excited about how this session turned out. I’m touched by how much of his life he has sacrificed for his little boy so my goal was to capture their connection. I’m happy because the results were magical.

Here’s a little Halloween treat! There is nothing like a little Halloween photo shoot! We did this session at a lovely little garden in San Ramon. It was a real garden full of fruits and vegetables. With grandparents and grandkids in tow we had a great time picking apples and stomping through the garden.

I know I say this about every family I shoot, so I really hope this doesn’t start sounding old. But I really enjoyed every part of my shoot with the Joneses. This little boy you see here is my son’s classmate, I’ve taken pictures of him in passing at school functions and have always been struck by how beautiful his eyes are. So now I finally have the chance to take this picture of his amazing blue eyes.
It’s wonderful to see a deeper layer of his family beyond what I see at our daily school pick ups. I love seeing how his father is the one who can make everyone laugh and be themselves. It makes me smiles to see his sister’s eyes light up when she talks to her grandmother about their next trip together. It warms my heart to see the way every single family member lovingly takes care of his older brother who suffers from autism.
The kids absolutely adore their grandparents and their backyard. I feel so happy that I am able to create images that will accompany the memories they they have in their hearts forever.
